Ford F-150 Lightning Towing Capacity
At a glance, it might be difficult to tell the difference between the Lightning and the standard F-150. That’s by design, the Lightning is all F-150, but still just different enough that we’re giving it its own section. The big difference is the fully electric drivetrain. This comes with a range of up to 320 miles, and enough power to hit 60 mph in under 4 seconds. There are two different battery configurations available, which come with different horsepower ratings and maximum ranges. But both come with a lot of torque, which is exactly what you want for towing. You might have seen the F-150 Lightning launch event where it towed a 1 million-pound train. Well, Ford doesn’t recommend you try that yourself, but recommended towing capacities are still impressive. All of this was enough to make the Lightning MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year for 2023.
