About the Ford Escape
The perfect companion for those living active lifestyles, the dynamic Ford Escape offers the style and technology to help you get out and explore. For those looking for a weekend getaway, this SUV boasts a massive 60.8 cubic feet of cargo space thanks to its standard 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks. Additionally, drivers can choose from two distinctive engine options: a 1.5L or a 2.0L EcoBoost® engine, optimized for either greater fuel economy or greater horsepower and torque respectively.
Available Intelligent AWD gives you the confidence to traverse across all types of weather conditions and terrain. For even greater efficiency, optional Auto Start-Stop Technology lets you spend less time filling up at the gas station and more time making memories. Premium features available inside the cabin of the Escape include a Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker Sound System and luxurious leather upholstery. Standard Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology works with you to help prevent accidents on the road and get you safely to your destination.
What the Critics Say
"Ford is rightly proud of the Escape and its effect on the Louisville economy. The popular and hot-selling SUV has been one of the company's best performers in the showroom. … The new SUV is efficient and reasonably fun to drive, and we have a lot of nice things to say about it." -- Truck Trend
"With high stakes in dealer showrooms and an onslaught of fresh competition from Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen, among many others, Ford pulled out the stops to create a pleasantly rounded fourth-generation Escape that brings enough smart features and model configurations to satisfy a variety of buyers." -- Car and Driver
Ford Escape Features

Enhanced Performance and Style
Drivers will have their choice of two distinctive powertrain options beneath the hood of the Ford Escape. Standard power comes from a 1.5L EcoBoost® engine with 181 horsepower. Step up to the ST-Line Select, Platinum, or ST-Line Elite grades to receive a 2.0L EcoBoost® with 250 horsepower for a perfect blend of power and efficiency. Either engine comes paired with a responsive 8-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission along with Auto Stop-Start Technology to maximize fuel economy.
LED signature lighting provides the perfect complement to the stylish front fascia of the Escape. Driving an Escape always means you’ll be ready for whatever comes your way thanks to an optional Intelligent AWD system in addition to a maximum towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds to take what you need – or want – with you.

Comfortable Interior
When you step inside the Ford Escape, you’ll immediately gain a sense of its spacious interior that features an array of optional comfort features. An optional Panoramic Vista Roof® can tilt up or open fully and features a fixed rear skylight that adds natural sunlight into the cabin. You can also configure the interior to match your needs thanks to a variety of versatile seating arrangements with split-rear seatbacks. Tailor your interior’s mood to your exact liking when you choose one of seven hues of ambient lighting. Designed specifically to fit your hands, the leather-trimmed steering wheel can get even cozier with an available heating function that helps you stay warm on chilly mornings.
Cutting-Edge Technology
Upon entering the new Ford Escape, you’ll quickly notice its vast array of innovative technology features designed to keep you connected no matter how far your journey takes you. Standard SYNC® 4 provides simple-to-use, responsive voice-activated technology on a standard 8-inch color touchscreen or an available 13.2-inch touchscreen. Standard FordPass Connect™ provides Wi-Fi® Hotspot connectivity while also allowing you to unlock your Escape remotely, check fuel prices, get important vehicle information, and even find parking.
An available Head-Up Display projects vital vehicle information onto a 6-inch widescreen near the driver’s side windshield so you’ll never need to take your eyes off the road. The Escape also touts four drive modes designed to add more ability for diverse terrains. Every trim comes with this feature, but an available 12.3-inch instrument cluster gives a helpful visual aid for each mode. These four modes include:
- Normal – For Everyday drives
- Slippery - Maximizing traction on slippery terrain
- Sport – Enhancing responsive shifting/handling and improving throttle
- Eco – For better fuel economy

Groundbreaking Driver Assistance Safety
Developed to keep you ahead of whatever danger may pass your way, the Ford Escape comes with a collection of innovative safety technologies both standard and available.
