Two New Ford Police Vehicles Pass Pursuit-Rating Test
Ford has provided the best to all its customers, including police departments. The Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan and F-150 Police Responder have officially been named the first pursuit-rated hybrid sedan and pickup truck vehicles for law enforcement use. These vehicles offer unique advantages for the departments that choose them, offering some of the most impressive capabilities among all vehicles.
The Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan is based off of the Ford Fusion. The Hybrid Sedan is projected to nearly double the Crown Vic’s fuel efficiency, while still being the Crown Victoria by more than a second in the test to a hundred miles per hour from a stop. The better fuel efficiency will lead to less down-time for officers, and will reduce the cost to the department by allowing them to spend less time refilling the gas tank.
The F-150 Police Responder has a unique place for officers, it can be used for both on-road pursuits and for off-road needs. It can go from zero to sixty in a matter of 6.3 seconds, making it capable of keeping up with some of the high-end manufacturer sedans. Meeting the needs of police across the country, Ford is doing everything it can to keep everyone as safe as possible.
