Ford Explorer Features
Inspired Performance & New Architecture
Entirely redesigned from the ground up, the all-new Explorer now rides on a rear-wheel drive platform which helps magnify both on- and off-road capabilities. The re-engineered 2.3-liter engine delivers 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, with increased performance over the outgoing Explorer equipped with the same engine. Serving as the foundation of the ST and Platinum powertrains, the optional 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 engine produces either 365 or 400 horsepower depending on the trim. All 2020 Explorer models come paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission. For maximum efficiency, a new Explorer Limited Hybrid is equipped with an advanced 3.3L Hybrid Powertrain. With the available 4WD with Terrain Management System™, the Explorer is ready for the road ahead. Standard trailer sway control selectively brakes and adjusts engine power to regulate trailer control, great for hauling your biggest toys along for your next weekend getaway.
After carefully examining each detail, the interior of the Ford Explorer is engineered to deliver the flexibility you need to make the most of your weekend. Giving you plenty of room for your next adventure, the Explorer features up to 87 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row. Optional multicontour seats with Active Motion® offer greater comfort for the driver and front passenger. Featuring room for up to 7 passengers, the optional third-row PowerFold® seats make it easy to carry both passengers and cargo. The sleek exterior of the Explorer is not only eye-catching, but it also helps create additional rear-seat headroom for one of the most spacious cabins in its class. An available 980-watt 14-speaker B&O premium audio system is sure to be a hit with music fans of all ages..
